BMX team Mobile Bike Events are this years Slaley Show highlight, performing in the main show-ring. They appeared in the 2023 show and we loved them so much, they're here again!. There's a change of line-up “Each year we recruit young talent to join our team of world and British champions. The age range of our performers stretches between 16 and 39 years of age” says team leader Ben Savage.
Ben explains how it will work within Slaley Show’s main ring:- “We have some very special bespoke ramps which were built by the Red Bull design team which enable us to drive into an arena and perform a spectacular stunt show with very little set up time. The ramps fold out on Hydraulics and pulley systems, there is no other equipment quite like it.”
During the performance the crowd can expect to see a whole host of exciting tricks including backflips, tail whips, bar spins, tuck no handers, can-cans, superman’s, 360 spins and maybe some single jumps with up to 4 of those tricks in one jump.
BMX has always been a popular sport as its generally quite accessible to young children and something parents and children can enjoy together. In recent years the sport has progressed significantly since the inclusion of BMX park in the Olympic Games. Not only has media coverage helped to promote the sport globally but it’s also given the professionals within the sport the funding and support they deserve.
“ Technology advances means the bikes are getting lighter and lighter without a detrimental effect to their strength” says Ben. He adds a cautionary note “Get all the safety gear you can get your hands on, its designed to save lives and it does just that!” he says.
