Slaley Show cancelled

From the BBC Weather puts a dampener on Slaley Show One of the region's oldest country shows has fallen victim to wet weather, even before it arrives.The Slaley Show in Northumberland is more than 170 years old but this Saturday's show has been cancelled.With heavy rain and high winds forecast for tomorrow organisers fear the show ground will be unfit for use.They say they've taken the decision for the sake of the public, traders, and animals due to attend....

Countdown to the Show

By now, you should be starting to see the signs going up for this year’s show.  If you haven’t been before, it is worth a visit, especially for the stunning industrial marquee, which is crammed full of people’s hard work - and children’s hard work too!  Around 2,500 people come to Slaley for the show, and get to enjoy the views we have all year round!  Adults pay £7, OAPs £5 and under 12s are free. Celebrating 160 Years of Slaley Show

This year we celebrate the 160th Slaley Show. Our long history has seen many changes from its start in 1848, with four classes – Flowers, Fruits, Vegetables and Farmers. Fifty years on, butter and produce were added and the changes continued, to include a shepherds’ gathering and cow and calf event, to finally evolving into the format that you see today.
